Stellar Blade Review: A Nier Automata-Inspired Soulslite with Mixed Results
Director Hyung-Tae Kim's Thoughts on His Creation
"Stellar Blade is a game that I've been working on for a long time, and I'm really proud of what we've been able to create. It's a game that combines the best elements of the action-adventure genre with the challenging combat of Soulslite games. I hope that players will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it."
Set in a semi-open world, Stellar Blade draws inspiration from the cult hit Nier Automata while borrowing gameplay elements from Soulslite titles. The result is an exhilarating spectacle that can sometimes get tedious.
Our own review gave Stellar Blade a score of 4.5 out of 5, which translates to an 80 on Metacritic. While it's certainly a strong sci-fi action adventure, the story leaves a bit to be desired.
Overall, Stellar Blade is a fun and challenging game that's sure to appeal to fans of both action-adventure and Soulslite games. However, it may not be for everyone, as the story and some of the gameplay elements can be a bit repetitive at times.
