Minnesota Gophers Men’s Basketball Team Adds Exhibitions Against 2 In-State Teams to Schedule
Two Games to Tip-Off Season Before Nov. 7 Opener
The Minnesota Gophers men’s basketball team has added a pair of exhibition games to its 2022-23 schedule, the program announced Monday.
The Gophers will host Concordia-St. Paul on Oct. 29 at Williams Arena before traveling to face St. Cloud State on Nov. 4 at Halenbeck Hall.
Both games will tip off at 7 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on B1G+.
Golden Gophers Look to Improve Upon Last Season
The Gophers are coming off a 13-15 season in 2021-22, including a 4-14 mark in Big Ten play.
Ben Johnson is entering his third season as head coach of the Gophers and will look to lead the team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.
Concordia-St. Paul and St. Cloud State Provide Early Tests
Concordia-St. Paul finished 22-7 last season and won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament title.
St. Cloud State went 16-13 last season and finished fifth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings.
Both teams will provide the Gophers with a good early test before the regular season begins.
Gophers Open Regular Season at Home Against Western Michigan
The Gophers will open the regular season at home against Western Michigan on Nov. 7 at Williams Arena.
The game will tip off at 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on BTN.
