Late Goal from Beto Denies Rossoneri All Three Points
Dramatic Finish at Dacia Arena as Both Teams Share Spoils
In a thrilling Serie A encounter at the Dacia Arena, Udinese fought back from a goal down to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against AC Milan on Saturday. The Rossoneri took the lead in the first half through Olivier Giroud, but a late equalizer from Beto ensured the points were shared.
Milan dominated the opening exchanges and deservedly took the lead in the 22nd minute. Rafael Leão played a delightful through ball to Giroud, who calmly slotted the ball past Marco Silvestri. Udinese responded well to going behind and created several chances of their own, but they were unable to find a way past Ciprian Tătărușanu in the Milan goal.
The second half continued in much the same vein, with Milan looking the more likely to score. However, Udinese defended resolutely and kept the Rossoneri at bay. With time running out, Udinese threw everything forward in search of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off in the 92nd minute when Beto headed home from close range to spark wild celebrations among the home fans.
The draw leaves Milan in second place in the Serie A standings, four points behind leaders Napoli. Udinese, meanwhile, move up to 11th place.
